Well recently I am feeling a lot of nostalgia for Fallout 1. I remember playing it in 1998 and I really want to play it again. I was planning to get it on Steam along with GTA: San Andreas. Will I encounter any problems running it on Windows 7?

Any help, input and experience is appreciated.;)

Don't know about Fallout 1, but you won't have any problems with San Andreas. Game works perfectly fine, multiplayer mods work fine (all of them, MTA is the best imo it has the best mods and maps, but SA-MP has even more players and servers with up to 500 players) and all mod apps work fine.

Thank you. Do mods work for the Steam version of GTA SA? I wanted to get the ENB graphics mod and a lot of vehicles.

From what I heard they should work just fine, but sorry I don't know for sure, I have it retail.

I got a bunch of Hitman games from Steam sale, and one of the 3 games I got is unplayable. It's called Codename 47, and it is unplayable because of the inconsistent game speed. I think the processors aren't like they used to be, and depending on certain conditions, the game plays fast or really REALLY fast. Not all old games are like this though. It will be a hit and miss depending on the game you buy. You should google for playing "X" game on windows 7 or through steam on windows 7 and see what you come up with as far as complaints.

Enabling V-sync usually helps with rapid game speeds.

Good Old Games. No DRM, incredibly cheap, and all of the games reworked to run on new systems. I'm playing the crap out of Baldur's Gate right now and it runs fantastic.

I didn't have any problems running games like Fallout 1 and Baldur's Gate on my PC with windows 7 64 bit.

oh wait, there's one problem I encountered, 'rainbow' colours. Basically colours were a bit messed up in parts of the game, especially in the odd cutscene.

there's a fix for that for both games, but I honestly forgot it now. maybe you won't have the same problem though.

I get all my older games from GOG just for those reasons. And if you do run into issues, GOG has a great community with forums for each game, so it's very easy to get help. :)

Also try setting CPU affinity, disable all cores except the first one.
