I have X2 3800 if I was going to upgrade to possibly X2 5000+ would there be a very noticeable difference or just minor like in multitasking??

no, in games u wont notice a big difference, tho it will be 3-4 frames.

Agreed. Although you might notice slightly quicker loading times if you upgrade the processor.

You would notice a slight difference at stock speeds, but the real advantage would be for overclocking.
