Is this a decent build?

I want to build the AMD budget gaming one. I already have the HD 3850. Is this good for the price? What else would I need besides Vista? I have a monitor, speakers, keyboard & mouse.

Don't get vista on a budget build. No offence but you'll need the performance boost for games like crysis.

But isn't Vista going to be a necessity for gaming soon?

I'm up in the air for Vista. What is the 3850 comparable to? I haven't been paying much attention to video cards lately

In terms of price it's comparable to an 8600GTS. However, it beats the hell out of the 8600 so it's an obvious choice tbh.

I just realized something. The budget build recommends a HD 3850, but also recommends a 430W power supply. The minimum requirement for a HD 3850 is 450W. If I got the 430W, would my HD 3850 even work?

Yeah that should work. Although it'll probably be easier to get your hands on a 450. 430 is an odd number.

And no, vista will not be a neccesity for gaming lol. Maybe in like a year. But atm on a budget build you will need those extra FPS. Ignoring 10-15% extra performance for no extra cost, hell it's cheaper, would be stupid.

Thanks. I'll check out some 450 ones.
