I am going to build a PC over the summer and this is my first build, my goal is to keep it under $800 and have great performance. I am interested in running crysis and other heavy duty games, and I also want this PC to be a hackintosh, I am not sure about the power supply, and I would like for it to be cheaper, but if its the lowest I should go it's ok. I already own a DVD burner, but it is IDE and with my motherboard OS X will not recognize it so I must buy an external exclosure. I already own the operating systems i want to run with it (xp,vista, windows 7 beta, and os x). I am interested in overclocking, but not yet and in order to keep costs down I omitted an aftermarket heat sink

I did a custom build PC on iBUYPOWER and got a computer a little better than what you have here for 773$. 9800GTX+, Core2 Q8300, and 4GB Corsair memory, and then equivalents to what you have here. That's a quad core, too, though so if you want to be future ready then I think you should go with that. My point is, though, I'm sure you can find a better combination somewhere.

Nuh huh... faster hard drives are kinda pointless.... Stick with what you have TC, as it's looking pretty good

I posted a 4870. It's far better than a 9800GTX+.

redneckdouglas

agreed. And it has an aftermarket cooler

Also I would spend the extra money and get this PSU -http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004

And about the mobo. It's alright but you would be much better off with either on of these-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128358or this one ( mostly the same but supports crossfire if you go with the 4870 in the above post which I would recommmend doing)

Oh, and I just saw the RAM you listed. It's a good deal but I would most definitely get this instead( known to not have as many problems, cheaper, and better timing)

Hope this is helpful:D
