That 6630M is (I believe) the bottom model of the dedicated mobile Radeon cards. It'll probably run most games at low resolution and detail at a good rate - older ones may be playable at the native resolution of your screen.

It's not great, but should have no problem playing MMOs.

This, I bet you I could build a 3x better computer for like half of that price.

For $500, including OS and screen? While I do agree that a desktop at that price range would be better, I don't think that a equivalent system, let alone a system that's 3x better, can be built for just $500.

It should be fine for schoolwork and MMOs . Not sure about regular gaming though as Im not familiar with thatgraphics card . I have a 3 year old Vaio with an i-7 and GT 330m that I used to use ( the wife now uses it ) and it was pretty solid for gaming purposes .

Sorry for being tenacious, but I still don't think it's possible with the current price of hardware. A few of my buddies and I were discussing the exact same problem only a couple of weeks back, and we only barely were able to scrape together a decent system for about $600 when including the OS. The parts chosen, at best, were mediocre; the processor was an i3 2100, the video card was a 6670, and the enclosure and power supply were very cheap and not amounting to $100. The price of the hard drive is what really killed it; a mere 250GB hard drive cost a good $80, which was more than the price of the video card chosen.

-As much as I liked the Athlon II x3's, and despite the fact that it has an additional physical core, the x3 455 is not the equivalent to the i7-2640M.

-The laptop listed above has a 640GB drive. The drive in this build, while perhaps being faster, is half the size.

-Single channel memory (though admittedly, this can be easily remedied for next to nothing).

-The case and power supply are incredibly cheap. This was a major point of concern between my friends and I when we were discussing this issue, as a case and power supply at this price range will severely limit the upgrade options available.

And this is not taking into account that the laptop has a screen, keyboard, is a smaller form factor, and... you know.... is a laptop :P.

Its specification is good but price is very high. I don't think that with this system you can play MMO. So it would be better to purchase another one and confirm the price before purchasing. The price that you have mentioned is very high.

Yes but I was looking for a 15 inch. The first two you suggested were 17 in. The last one was pretty much was 15 in. but it was pretty much the same price with the discount I got. Reguardless, thank you for your advice. I think the laptop I picked will run the games I am looking at pretty well , (AOE2, LOTRO) and it was a good price.

The lenovo i posted has a better cpu, more ram and a better gpu for that price though. As well as being a more reliable brand.
