Yeah, it's USB 2.0, you just plug into the wall for power and then into your computer via USB, it'll show up and you just drag and drop files.

if you can wait til black friday walmart will be having a 1tb for 78 or a 1.5 tb for 98

10 cents a gigabyte isn't bad. I'd say you aren't getting ripped off.

I've never had many problems with west digi. Problems arise from faulty firmware and specific releases. So, thinking that because it's brand X doesn't give you any guarantee on its quality. For instance, I have four seagate drives in my server, all of them are supposed to have faulty firmware, but I've never had a problem with them. **KNOCK ON WOOD** So, you have to pay attention to the forums of the respective hard drive manufacturer to see. But you should be OK with that drive. Although, it is a known fact that the less dense a hard drive is, the lower the probability there is that the drive will get errors. So, getting a large capacity drive usually isn't the best thing to put crucial data on. But you should be OK.

the 78 is western digital, can't find the 1.5 TB may have been mistaken. there will also be a 320 gb for 49 though, also WD
