If its purely for gaming then spend that money on a desktop. Youll get much more for your money and should pretty much run high settings on 99% of games available today for 700.

Personally I would never advise anyone to get a laptop for gaming, IMO there is no such thing.
Ditto. For that money, if you won't be moving too much, you'll get a very decent desktop that will probly max almost any next gen game.If its purely for gaming then spend that money on a desktop. As someone who made the mistake and bought an Alienware M17x w/ 797M, I'd say go desktop. Sure, I can run a lot of games at 120+ FPS, but sometimes it struggles... Witcher 2, Metro 2033... GO DESKTOP if you have the option. PinkscareIf he can only be arsed to get a laptop, he'd better get some dell/alienware or asus gaming one. Acer's are a piece of garble.

The ONLY reason I bought my Alienware is because of apartment space and my credit line. I'll be building my own desktop when I upgrade.
