This is one Desktop PC I saw on Futureshop that is on sale. It's made by ACER. Now the specs are as following (from what is given)

Vista

AMD Phenom X4 9550 (I looked on the internet it says it's 2.2Ghz... which means it's a quad core 2.2 Ghz right?)

4Gb of Memory DDR2

640 Go of HDD (Not that important)

And finally it's a HD 3650 video card (512 Mb)

Is it any good?

The price is very "correct" something I can pay for (it's 800 $ Canadian)

Now I looked on the internet it says that the video card is good can run many new games (CoD 4, Crysis, Oblivion and so on on High/Medium Settings, depending on resolution)

My question is this PC, once my warranty expires, I would like to upgrade it. Would it be possible? Like puting a new video card (Geforce or ATI Radeon) and putting extra memory (like an addition 2Gb or 4Gb)

you can probably add a new video card later, but i suggest you build your own, you can make sumthing better than that for a cheaper price. you may be able to add more ram, but it depends on the free slots.

Like the user who posted before me, I would recommend building a custom PC, that way you will save a lot of money (anywhere from $100 upwards). You could build the same PC I have listed in my sig for around $750, that's cheaper than the prebuilt PC you listed, and my card, the ATI 4870, is much much better than the 3650 (not bashing it in anyway, just saying you could get a better card by building your own pc). Are you experienced at all in building a PC? It's not too difficult, and it will save you money.

With 800 Canadian dollars (about $750 U.S.), you could buy a system like mine, excluding monitor, mouse, keyboard, etc.

To answer your final question (if you can upgrade that one), yes you can, as long as it is a desktop, which I know it is.

I've heard that AMD isn't as good as intel core 2 duo... but don't quote me on it. also, an ATI Radeon HD4870 would be awesome. As for the one your looking at... Its alright I guess, not the best though.

Thanks for the answer guys, sadly my experiance with PC goes as far as ram memory is in question (take out ram, put new one in a slot). I'm looking for tutorials now for the graphic card in the future.

One question, I know like you guys said Intel is better than AMD (I've read some pages on the net) so my question would be, in the future when I upgrade my PC, can I change my let's say Phenom X 4 to Intel processor.

no way to tell but its not even able to play crysis really hi settings all that well on hi rez so i doubt it man. i suggest getting a cheap rig and wait a little while. also go with intel since intel owns amd right now. get a Q9450 or an 8000+ =P intel owns for overclocking and cooling. also get 4gb ram its really cheap now. ur vid card is fine, 8800 gt is a good budget card too. yeah all you need better is a better cpu and ur good for now but no way to tell for sure since technology could change fast

need to change whole mobo man, different sockets. intel is better right now but amd could get better. intel doesnt have TRUE qaud core because it is serial processing and not exactly paralell. in paralell prosessing, every core is working together, in serial you have to fill oen by one. but due to way higher clock speeds better arcitechture, and cache, intel is etter =)

don't buy acer, acer is complete crap dude, the specs are great but for some reason those things get returned all of the time, we'll open them up and put them on display and they are either broken, running super slow, or have some other weird problem with them. theres a reason that the same specs in an HP would be significantly more. i don't mean to bash what you're trying to do just giving you a heads up, isell comps and we see a lot of those crap out. do what others have suggested and build your own

Just to double check before I go buy one tomorrow. The Case where the ATi HD 3650 is inserted. Once I wanna upgrade it will the ATI HD 4870 be compatible (in other words, just take out the 3650 and put the 4870) ?

Everdai: I've heard it, but the fact that I can't build my own pc from 0 doesn't advantage me... I have a Acer laptop though, works fine for me at the moment.

ERRORWTF, thanks for help man, verry appreciated

yeah man it's definately hit or miss you could buy an acer and never have a glitch or buy an hp and have nothing but problems. i just wanted you to be informed, best of luck to you though man, the specs are great for the price on a prebuilt comp
