I just need a laptop for basic usage such as web browsing, P2P, burn CD's/DVD's, rip CD's/DVD's, watch movies, pRon:P, etc.

Save the hundred bucks and get this:

Dell Inspiron at Best Buy

I was in Best Buy, Ciruit City, and MicroCenter today and I didn't see that notebook priced that low. I saw a couple of $999+ Dell notebooks, but not one at that price.

i wuld recommend a dell latitude D830 with a duo processor :) n get lots of memory

thats wat i have and its perfect kinda pricy though... came out to b a little over 2k w/all the add-ons
