Yea a very good pc and whenever you get the chance just update to a faster gpu due to a demanding monitor resolution which will pain you for upcoming titles.

The main thing about going with the GTX is slightly higher performance than the GTS, meaning that games won't look like slideshows if you decide to play at higher resolutions, and/or with higher anti-aliasing and other settings enabled(though I think that AA is unnecessary when you start cranking up the resolution).

He must be saying that because quad-cores generate more heat than dual-cores, so you can't overclock them as much. However, I'd still go quad-core anyway. Even if games won't fully utilize it, you can use the extra CPU power to do other things like, say, rip a CD to MP3/AAC/OGG/whatever format in the background while you're fragging away. It'll also help if you want to do any CGI renders in 3ds max/Maya/Lightwave/XSI/etc., but I doubt you'll be using your new PC for that purpose.

Really? Better check my Internet sarcasm detector then. (And aren't you one of the few flight sim fans on these forums, holding great anticipation for Battle of Britain: Storm of War? Just checking my memory on GS forumites.)

Kinda, I always wanted to own a good joystick my entire life and get a good WW2 flight sim So about a month and a half ago I got a x52 (the one with joystick and a separate thing for throttle) and a copy of IL 2. I am having a bit of fun but its been a little boring. I guess I am waiting till Battle of Britain before I start using it alot and I am a little new to flight sims but have loved playing them my hole life.

If your not playing at a 1600 by 1200 or above resolution the GTS would probably be the better choice.

1946 should have IL-2: FB, AEP, and PF all on one DVD, as well as some new stuff. I might pick it up and join in on the action as soon as I get a new PC to ensure that I won't have any performance problems. (And then I also have to decide whether to just stick to my CH Fighterstick and Pro Pedals, splurge on a Pro Throttle or Throttle Quad to complement them, go for a Thrustmaster HOTAS Cougar instead for an ideal Falcon 4.0 experience, or instead put the money towards more games. So many things to buy, so little money...)

After reading the whole article. I think the pc is perfectly fine... ofc you pay more for having it built for you, but you get added bonus's such as a nice warrenty etc etc, as for the 8800gts vs 8800gtx... it is the next model up and one of the most expensive cards... i personally dont think for the money it is worht the upgrade... so i wouldnt unles you have money to burn or th money your spending is not yours :P Also the Q6600 is a very nice CPU and will be great for the future. I am getting one myself in the next 3-4weeks.

Instead if you built it your self you could maybe get Dual 8800 Ultras *faints*. It would be difficult but I think If you made another thread asking for help some smart guy could fit it into your budget (with a 24 inch monitor).
