Yes it's a scam...Steam has stated numerous times they will never ask for such information in that manner. They don't ask for that in a chat...also you can check the official steam forums for more info.

No problem.

NEVER give your private info in a chat...also you may want to scan your computer for anything that shouldn't be on it be it a virus or annoying lil browser hijacks and keyloggers.

I dont think i got it from Virus, i added "account Verification as a friend, wasnt paying attention at the time.

Hi, welcome to the interweb :) For future reference, anytime you wonder "Is this a scam?" there's a 99.99% that it is.  (You should probably cancel your card if you just ordered the penis enlargement cream offer you got via e-mail as well)

Its a general rule of thumb... every company with online tech support nvr asks for passwords or even usernames, well mabey usernames if the account screwed up and its not letting your in or something only a admin can change.

If anyone asks both of that reguardless of who is asking via IM or E-Mail.... its a scam. plain and simple.
