2. yeah thats an awful price you can get a dual core laptop with 1024mb of ram for like $600-$800
ok but what could i get thats betterglycerine1well whats this computer going to used for like is it going to be for basic stuff like schoolwork and internet or gaming
gamingglycerine11. $1200 isn't going to get you a good gaming computer
2. if you want to game get a desktop its so much cheaper and better a $800 desktop would murder a $2000 laptop
i dont need to play crysis or anything. just like gears on the go would be sweet enoughglycerine1
Gears? As in Gears of War? Not on a Geforce go 5200 you won't.And a P4 3.2 Ghz is not as fast as it may sound. A p4 is old tech that is not only below average by today's standards, but also extremely hot and power-hungry. I'm with the guy that said that Toshiba is barely worth $500
The Dell Inspirion 1520 with a T5250 processor and a nVidia 8600M-GT is a good choice...or a Toshiba A200 with a T5450 processor and a Radeon HD2600. I liked the Asus that Mastershake found as well. :)
What about a build like this? 2ghz Core 2 Duo, 2gb of DDR2-667, and a GeForce 8600m for around $1,126. A few upgrades, like a better battery, a 1680 x 1050 screen resolution, and Windows Vista Home Premium are nice touches to make it a machine that will be a solid productivity tool when you're not gaming.

Just select the 2ghz processor, geforce 8600m, 83w battery, the full screen upgrades, vista home premium, and the dell wireless N card, and you're all set.
