Fallout for 5.99 with no DRM and verified to run on XP and Vista. Is this a steal?

Well, the game is free on Gametap. So unless you have a 64-bit OS or Gametap's version of Fallout turns out to just be screwy for you, then I'm going to say no.JP_RussellFunny thing is yes I am using a 64bit OP rating system. Doesn't gametap have a monthly fee?

There is a monthly fee to play the "gold" games, but they have free games which you can play without a fee.Â

An... An "OP rating system?"
...Well, that's a first. Well, your 64-bit OS is probably why those games you speak of don't work. Probably has something to do with Gametap using only 32-bit executables for any of the games put on it. The old arcade games are just emulated, basically, so it makes sense that you would have no trouble running those.
I should also mention that if you're not in North America, Gametap won't let you play any M-rated games because of the fact that a lot of those games aren't allowed in places like Germany and such (or some stupid crap like that).
Just go ahead and get it from GoG.
To bad you didn't get it back when it was like 6$ for both 1 and 2 at walmart.Hells_rebelion
Actually in my opinion the main point of these 6$ is the fact that the game is optimized to work under XP and Vista. I had more then one issue replaying Fallout 1 & 2 under XP.

Sorry just a typo, I was probably thinking about something else when I was typing that.Looking back, buying the original Fallout was the best decision of my life.
In all seriousness, six bucks is a great deal.
