I put together some basics of a computer at NCIX.ca and i was wondering if it was a good setup that'l last me a few years and will actually work(compatible and such and won't overheat for some reason...)

Case:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=20935

Ram:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=18495

Motherboard:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=23404

Processor:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=21228

Power supply:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=30137

Video Card:

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=30487

By the way i don't need an OS, hard drive or optical drive,.

so yah... if you think anything should be replaced, maybe everything? that would be great to get some input, i'm looking for a decent computer thats fairly cheap, this will cost me about $550 without tax and shipping and i'm not thinking of going over 600 so if you make any suggestions it would be nice if you kept under that mark, thanks. Aswell if you make a suggestion it would be super awesome if you explained why sort of thing, so i can understand and such.

Thanks a lot for your time and effort, i would really appreciate some input and advice please!!! Thanks

My question is...why get a 170 dollar PSU? Get one for 100 dollars cheaper and get a far better case+motherboard, I'd say. mATX isn't such a great idea.

For the mobo, probably something like http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=29825&vpn=GA-MA78G-DS3H&manufacture=Gigabyte

As for the case, it's personal preference, but at that price point I'd probably get something like http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=25668&vpn=VG7000BWS&manufacture=THERMALTAKE

Why exactly did you choose that mobo? Like for my understanding, why is that one better than the one i chose?

I would suggest buying everything from directcanada.com for the free shipping. Or if you buy from Ncix, use the price match.

CPU 114$

Motherboard 64$

Corsair 550W power supply 84$ (no deal for the Seasonic at direct canada)

Antec 300 case 52$ (better cooling) or Coolermaster RC 330 40$

Video card 174$

RAM 56$ (use the 25$ MIR from NCIX)

Scythe fan 9$ (the two cases above need an additional fan)

I agree on going intel is better but I disagree with all of those parts choice, The E4600 is old and the E7200 for the same price is faster not only in speed but faster per clock http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=12200BD6726&vpn=BX80571E7200&manufacture=INTE Im not sure if that motherboard supports P35 chipsets but I know for a fact that this one does and overclocks well http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=11830BD6873&vpn=GA-EP35-DS3L&manufacture=GIGABYTE Also coolmaster is tier 4-5 powersupply where the corsair is a tier 1-2 so that was a downgrade quality wise since coolmaster is below average.

But the budget will rose to $300 if he use corsair PSU... I'm just trying to match the previous budget AMD based $262...

I agree CPU Intel e7200 + Mobo Gigabyte EP35-DS3L is a better choice... If he use Coolmaster PSU the budget will be $288...

He said he didn't want to go over $600 and with those parts I listed its $575 with NO rebates included so its fine.

Hey thanks a lot for your suggestions, maybe i'll go with an intel chip, is my setup good for overcloking, i've never overclocked before and don't know how, but i think i could easily learn( anyone know any sites that have good guides and such to teach newbies) Will i have enough power with either psu?

Well anyways, thanks a lot for your suggestions, i'm still open to some more, and maybe given a good site on how to overclock and everything i would need to know before i attempt it and how to keep it cool and such and such.

Thanks
