Yes an ATI 4770 is a very good very affordable card but unfortunately, its full potential is not unleashed unless he goes CrossFire with it.

I would highely recommend this card, the 4870 is top tier. I found this one on ebay for a tremendous price. This seller has got some really neat prices.
