If you can add 100$ you can grab Q6600 which should last even more time, but if you cant than this one should be great. It should last you at least for 1 year and a half.

Nah thats a good duel core processor ... You'll see a nice performance increase compared to your P4 ... + with stock cooling and stock volts you can overclock pretty far with the Core2's

Why its not worth?? It should last longer than C2D. And you should also see better performance from it in future games, that will be multithreaded.

Is not native Quad, and if you OC the C2D at 3Ghz is faster than Q6600, E6850 is faster right now than Q6600

Yeah. Its true its not native. But its still faster than C2D in multithreaded games which are coming. And you can also OC C2Q to 3.0ghz. I am gona grab it. As far as i know penryn wont be native quad core as well, and Q6600 should last me till summer 2008 or winter when Intel will hopefully already release native eight core, or ill just grab AMD that time.

you could by your e6550, or you can spent much less money and get a e4300, which is much better, it looks like crap but with that 9x internal multiplyer and low fsb, you can overclock it easily to up to 3-3.5 without much increased voltage.

Apparently and unfortunately, Penryn won't be native quad, Intel is waiting for that with their 22.5nm chipsets =(. I know because my friend's cousin works at Intel. Oh, and I also get 50% off all of their products :P.
