Ok, so I installed Win7 RC and it's saying my activation period expired and I may be a victom of counterfeiting.

Is this because I'm using the RC? or did I do something wrong during install or if I got the wrong key or something.

I had the same problem one day, wasn't sure how to correct it (since my key was valid and everything). Ended up installing an update or two (not sure if that even did anything) and by the end of the day the system said it was valid again. Not sure if it corrected itself or if it was an update.

The Beta has expired, no the RC still has about a year left till the shutdowns start happening

I think you can go into the activation menu and get your key changed.

I've tried 3 different keys, and it still does this.

I've been going to this link http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/download.aspx and I went down to 'Download 64-bit version' and then used the key given there.

Amd I going to the wrong link for keys?

Ok, the Counterfeiting message just came up again and when I clicked the link, it said this

Validation is not currently supported for this version of Windows or for this non-Microsoft operating system.

It appears that you are using an operating system that is not currently supported by the validation process.

Did you try running the activation wizard again, just incase that step was missed during the install?

From my understanding the Windows 7 RC versions are good until March 1st 2010. So you are wrong! The only versions that expired are the "BETA" versions, he's using the "RC" version, which is a release candidate and not necessarily a beta.

To the T.C. - Mines experienced the same thing, all you gotta do is follow the on screen instructions and call the Microsoft number and they will activate it with their automated system...worked for me. Problem solved...
