Is this ok? Should I be doing this?

I have had my comp for a week or so now and I only just looked up my motherboard specs online. The reason I done this was because I have been having heating troubles with my cpu. Anyways... It says my motherboard dosen't support windows 7 and the OS I'm using is windows 7. Is it ok to run windows 7 even though it's not supported? I can't seem to get any drivers etc as there are none for windows 7. Do I have to downgrade my OS to Vista/XP? I would rather not...

Here's my motherboard: http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=ALiveNF6P-VSTA&s=AM2

Here are my specs:

OS: windows 7 32bit

CPU: amd 9850 2.5ghz x4

GPU: nvidia 8800gts (320mb)

RAM: 4gb

HDD: 3x 250gb

Thanks in advance

Get your drivers from the companies that made the main motherboard components, like nVidia...

I don't think there is a driver for mobo at all. But, you do need to install driver that's part of the mobo, like ethernet and sound. If you can get those drivers, you are fine, otherwise you get no eithernet and sound. They are using Realtek chips on those two components, so I would double check them on Realtek website. I think they have the drivers. They are not some weird company that doesn't keep up-to-date.magicalclick

What about chipset drivers?

You need those....

The only thing I install is the USB 2.0 drivers and the on-board Ethernet. And really you don't have to use the onboard stuff at all, you can get USB 2.0 pci card and an Ethernet pci card
