NOBODY KNOWSSSSS!!!!! Crysis isnt out yet, and there is no way for us to determine how well it will run on any machine. Anyway. Your GTS is top of the line and the rest of the pc looks very good. You shouldnt have any trouble running games for a while

Not another thread like this. That should run Crysis. The CPU is a little lacking though. If you're gonna go for intel you gotta go for the Extreme Editions.

1. It's a "HARDWARE" question, belongs in the hardware forum!

2. The game isn't out yet, so it's all mere speculation.

3. This same question has already been asked too many times.

Or learn to overclock yourself. Extreme editions cost like 500$+. I dont know where you got a Dual-Core CPU as "lacking" in requirements for a FPS. Theres only like 3 games out that have Recommended as "Dual-Core." I dont know any that have Minimum req. as dual-core. Nvidia claims that the 8000 series has "Quantum Effects" which takes alot stress off the CPU when rendering physics. So from where Im standing, the CPU is well above what he needs when combined with the rest of his rig.

Man, why do all these threads appear? I have a feeling a lot of these guys just do it to piss us off, cause they don't even reply back in this thread to even appologize for giving another one of these threads to us, that we have seen countless of times before.

The E6420 is a good enough CPU if you slap a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme, Tuniq Tower 120, or other such HSF to keep the temperature down while overclocking it out the wazoo. Two GB of RAM sounds great, but it's only DDR2-667. I hope it can OC to DDR2-800 or DDR2-1066. The 8800 GTS 640 MB should also chew through every PC game released now and in the next year or two, depending on settings. Overall, I'd say that you're set for Crysis, though I'm wondering if it's a wise idea to only get two cores instead of four. (If Supreme Commander is any indication, then games will start to clamor for quad-core CPUs rather quickly...)

I'd visit hardware forums and get help there I bet you can find better components for less or just a little more $$. The E6600 is better than that processor as well.

I upgraded from 533mhz ram (2gigs) to 667mhz (3gigs) and I barely noticed any preformance boost. Right now its OC to 707mhz because I OC my FSB (only way to OC an intel CPU). I seriously doubt that you need high preformance RAM. Doesnt cost that much more than most RAM, but I dont see what improvement it would give you. About the only thing I know about RAM is that its actualy speed is about 1/2 what they say. So 667mhz runs at 333mhz which is far above the FSB speed of a Core 2 Duo of 266mhz (Intel Processors are Quad Pumped). So anything more would only improve load times not gameplay.

If you went from 2 gigs of 533 to 3 gigs of 667 you would certainly see a boost in everything you did on your PC

About the only thing I noticed was decreased time spent opening programs like firefox and the ability to alt-tab out of games without reloading desktop. The cost difference doesnt seem to be much on newegg.com so if he spends 50$ more he wont have to worry. Another point would be that they dont actualy post memory speed req. on the back of most games so =/

well most games don't need a specific speed of memory, just a certain amount. but increased speed at the same amount would make a noticeable difference.

I dont feel like reading this but if you want to read up on memory vs CPU speeds then this looks like an interesting page.
