its quite cheap and has good ampage etc (36A maximum)

 

is this a good buy or should i go cheaper because its a bit overkill?

Yes, specs please. There is really not such thing as too much power, unless you take electric bill into consideration, then it is a very big deal.

with high Watt PSU's most of the power is just wasted. and some specs would be help :)

im about to suggest a nice 500 watt power supply...its still a bit much for your system but its wroth it to invest in a good power supply.  someone reccomended it to me a while back and its awesome.  It is manuffactured by Corsair, click the link and take a look.  its a very nice psu.

PSU's only draw however much load you have on a system. So even if you had a 1000W PSU, if your system only puts 380W load on the PSU, you would only draw 380W. The real thing is the efficiency, as far as electric bills go.

Really? I have always thought that power goes wasted if you don't use them. Thanks for the info. Now I feel much at ease with my 680W psu running all night sharing... errr, rendering 3d scenes!

Nothing is "overkill". Yes it is fine. But I can tell you with a 450-500w from a company like enermax or corsair you would do great.
