I've just bought a POV 8800GTS 320MB for my computer. I run the benchmark in Company of Heroes and get an average framerate of 79.4FPS, highest at 180FPS and a minimum of 25FPS.

Is this suppose to be correct?? I mean I expect this game to run EVERYTHING ON MAX above 30FPS all the time. Company of Heroes LAGS like crazy in the first mission.

The rest of my specs are P4 3.2ghz, 2 GIGS RAM, 160GB

That performance sounds about right, but there are few things you should check. Did you install the drivers from the CD? Always get the latest drivers from nvidia.com Also, did you plug in the PCI-e power connector on the card? (6-pin I believe) Did you build your computer, if not what manufacturer is it? I'm just wondering if your RAM is in dual channel mode and what the timings are. The P4 could be bottlenecking it a bit, but performance issues could also be related to what other software you are running while gaming, what is your idle commit charge on the process list of task manager?

p4, that's the problem there. but still, about 80 fps average on max is nothing to snuff about.

I've have downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia a long time ago and my computer are updated regularly.

My RAM frequency is about 533mhz. Is that good?

When I started Company of Heroes Campaign, in lags like hell in the first level when you have to get your men to the shingle. I solve this problem by alt tabbing out of the game and alt tabbing in again but I still wanna know any solution to correct this issue.

Does anyone has one?

Well that definitely sounds like a software problem, what else are you running while playing?

I disable every unnecessary programs while playing games through the task manager therefore it couldn't be a software problem.

Could it be my card problem? My card is a POINT OF VIEW 8800GTS 320MB.

Is this brand good?

I've never heard of that brand before, so I don't know. It almost sounds like you want us to say that it's bad. Are you in Australia?

I am in New Zealand.

I am not trying to say that the card was bad, I am just trying to get other people opinion on it.

I did some reseach and so far the brand got a good reputation.

So does anyone know how to solve my "lag" problem in COH???

its not the card its your cpu holding you back, there is just so much you can ask from a P4, which is bottlenecking your system.

But he solved it by Alt-Tabbing. Probably not the CPU. Odd.

So does anyone know wht type of problem this is?

Is it the game problem?

The "Alt-Tab" method also happens in FEAR, after I alt tab to desktop and to the game again then the performance gets about 5 times better than before. What type of problem this is?

My power supply is the DUALFAN 650WATT.

It is a recommended PSU for the 8800GTS.

Youre processor is killing youre performance go to newegg.com and get a E4300 Allendale for $169 its fast and it may give you another 20 - 80+ FPS in most games.

also if you overclock youre CPU from 3.2 to at least 3.7 that could help also overclocking youre 8800GTS could help to.

I agree, the processor is a p4 (eww for higher end gaming), you should be using a core2duo, or an AMD X2 or AMD FX for gaming

Agreed. Get a cheap Core 2 Duo assuming your mobo supports Skt 775.
