Is this safe to buy Rtx 4090? Burning cables/adapters?

Hello. I will be buying Gigabyte Rtx 4090 Gaming OC. But is this worth and safe? I will be using adapter from card to plug.

My psu is Seasonic 1300W Prime Platinum.

I have the Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 4090. It looks like the Nvidia adapter can be prone to defects and there will probably be a recall at some point. The biggest concern seems to be bending the cables so you can close the side panel or your case. Here is my PC...

I bent the cables prior to attaching it to the video card. My side panel closes, but does rest up against the cables. I did not have to force it to close. I haven't had any issues, but If you are really worried about it, you can buy the 90 degree plug from CableMod soon.

@BassMan: Why the hell Nvidia didn't thought of 90 degree cable angle from the get-go? That's a smart move by CableMod cause I'm gonna go ahead and get myself an RTX 4090 when my taxes goes live next year so thanks for the heads up as I been hearing 3 people at reddit reporting the issue. Oh and glad to know you are using 850w PSU so its safe to know my 850w PSU adequate for the job.

@davillain: Yup, 90 degree is definitely the way to go. Poorly thought out design by Nvidia. As long as you have a good quality 850W PSU, it will be adequate for your 5900X+4090 combo. However, if you are thinking about upgrading your CPU like you had mentioned to a 7950X3D... 850W will not be enough. Those CPUs draw a lot more power. I would go for something like a 1200W to allow for some headroom. Might as well buy an ATX 3.0 PSU at that point too where you don't have to use a cable adapter.

Seems like I don't have a choice. Looks like I'm gonna need a bigger case too.

Will be any difference between Palit GeForce RTX 4090 GameRock OC and Gigabyte Rtx 309 Gaming OC? Gigabyte is not in stock everywhere. But Palit is on stock.

I bought now Palit GeForce RTX 4090 GameRock OC. I cant find anywhere Gigabyte and i dont know how long waiting for. So i decide for Palit GeForce RTX 4090 GameRock OC. In monday i get card .

It is a beast for sure. It comes with a good support bracket that attaches to the case. You can see it at the top right of the card in the case photo. The 4090 makes my 3080 look small and it is not a small card.

Congrats on the 4090. All the 4090 cards are pretty much the same. The cooling is good on all of them and none OC very good. So, it doesn't really matter which one you buy. Your case will fit the 4090 as long as you remove the hard drive cage in the front.

Slap a waterblock on it and get it down to proper dual slot size again.

@horgen: I use an AIO for my CPU and can't accommodate another AIO for the GPU in my case. Also, I don't want to do a custom loop. The size of the card doesn't bother me though. I use a closed case with no glass panels. It is also hidden behind my bottom monitor and used as a stand for my top monitor.

@BassMan: I am unsure if I will remain using the custom loop for the CPU. For GPU though it is brilliant.
