Is this site legal

Take a look at this site. They offer really old games free of charge for downloading. Most games on the site are those which are now completely out of production, and not available for purchase even on the official site of the publisher. Hell, most of those publishers are actually defunct now. So I just wanted to know, is it legal to download games from that site? I don't want to download anything if its illegal. Please check out the site and let me know. Thank you.

P.S. Mods please don't delete this thread because I'm not promoting piracy in any way. I'm just asking if a particular site is legal or not.

Abandonware doesn't legally exist, so no. Even if it should, just saying it should doesn't make it so.  There are some games though that have been released into the wild for free.  It's kinda hard to track that stuff.  I'm sure there's a list somewhere.
