I can spend up to $1400 at the most. any suggestions? please rate from 1 to 10

I would get the Corsair 520 for that system

http://www.buy.com/prod/corsair-520w-sli-certified-modular-atx-power-supply/q/loc/101/203270716.html

Also the HD2900xt and maybe some Crucial ram

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146565

But its perfectly fine the way it is.

It's better if you don't have AA on, and you won't need it at that res anyways.

If you want a budget PC go AMD X2 and 8800GTS 320mb(very good PC for the $), but since you have a $1400 budget... I suggest you get an E6600, which has a lower FSB speed so you can overclock it more. Good motherboard, I think I have the same. Rest looks good... what OS you planning on getting?

Overpriced Samsung LCD monitor for the lose.

I'd recommend this BenQ 22" Widescreen.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014139

Or if you can spend a bit more, there's some cheap 24" Widescreens (about the same quality as most 22" Widescreens since they use a TN panel.. which blow).

Currently the HD2900XT outperforms the 8800GTS 640MB in most games, even with 4x/8x AA on.

E6600 = weaker than E6750, and the E6750 is a better overclocker since you can get its FSB to like 400-450MHz fairly easily.

I'm not sure about the Samsung but i've heard good things about it. Monitors have always been a little bit tricky to me because of all the different types of panels. So the benQ is deffinitely better than that samsung?

Hell yes, Samsung's BW series is overpriced as hell if you consider the fact that they all use TN panels which aren't a big deal for most people.. but still suck. :(

If you re-use your hard drive, you'll need to reinstall Windows as well.

yeah, I was really just looking at reviews, I'll do a little more research on benQ before I'm sold on, and also its only like 30 bucks more expensive...

and about the hard drive thing: I guess i'm gonna stick with getting windows xp again, unless vista starts to sound better in the next 6-7 days

If you can get the 6750 to 400-450mhz easy then you can do it to the E6600 also... the only difference is that the E6600 has a higher multiplier 9x. The E6750 has a 8x multiplier so for 400-450mhz youll get 3.6ghz for 450mhz, while on the E6600 for 3.6ghz for 400mhz. So an E6600 at 1333mhz actually gets you 3ghz compared to the E6750 at 2.6ghz. Not to mention that a higher FSB speed = higher chipset/memory/cpu temperatrues. So you'll need some extra cooling for the E6750.

No, the E6750 is better then the E6600. The 6750 also has g0 stepping which makes it OC better.

musclesforcier

I think my point was that the E6600 can get the same speeds of the E6750 at a cooler temperature. I'm not quite sure what the difference is between B2 and g0 (mainly because I haven't been reading about overclocking for that long), but I'm guessing that by the time you hit that spot where g0 beats b2 (point where B2 can't OC anymore) your gona need some serious cooling for 1333mhz+ motherboard FSB speeds. Do mobos support that higher of FSB than 1600mhz or so?

True, but G0 stepping doesn't cause the chipsets to run cooler or the memory. I guess I said CPU also so =/ my fault. I was wondering if you could point me to a site with more info on G0? I tried wikipedia, but it scimmed the surface.
