the 1gb version is noob bait. The 8800gt cannot make use of 1gb.
the 512mb version of the 8800gt is perfectly fine, or if you want to spend a little more you can look into the 8800gts (512mb).
Pretty much. 1gb cards is practically a well-thought out scam. I remember some kid telling me the other day that his 8800GTS 640 was better than my 9800GTX (which is funny because that's the exact same card I came from). He also thinks that his computer beats mine soley because it has 3gb of RAM as opposed to my 2gb.

i also love it when people think they have a better PC than be soley based on their GPU. A buddy of mine said he had a better computer than me because he had an 8800gt... even though he was still using a single core an 512mb of RAM :lol:
