So, I'm pretty tired of my computer (Dual Core Pentium D 915) which only has integrated graphics (Intel GMA 950). This is why recently I've been looking to upgrade my computer. I got some suggestions on other forums but jsut want to double check if these upgrades are compatible with my pc. My current motherboard is an ASUS P5LP-LE (Leucite); this has 3 PCI and 1 PCI-E x16 slots along with 4 DDR2 slots for ram. The motherboard's current chipset is an Intel Lakeport-G i945G. Current power supply has a maximum of 300 Watts. The upgrades I want to make involve a new PSU, GPU, and a new processor, with some RAM and some cooing stuff thrown in: GPU; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121291 PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171038 Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116091 RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231119 Cooling stuff: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835200018 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835888105 So basically, can I successfully upgrade my computer with these products? If so, are there any possible issues that could arise due to overheating because of my case or something?

Everything looks good, but you probably won't need the HDD cooler. Also what case are you using, are you sure you have enough room for the video card? Modern video cards are very long and some cases can't fit them. As long as you have an intake fan and an exhaust fan on your case you won't have to worry about overheating.

Yeah, the case is what I'm worried about. I really don't know how to describe it, its just a generic HP case. its mroe or less 16 inches long, 14 inches tall, 6 or 7 inches wide. Is there any way I can find out if the graphics card I want will fit?

Just open it up and measure from the back bracket to the first obstruction, which is usually the HDD bays.

I'm going to sound like a computer retard now but, what exactly do you mean by back bracket? The back part of the case? Any by first obstruction I'm guessing you mean the first part inside the case that can not be passed?

the back brackeyt if im not mistaken is the part which keeps your cpu fan attached to the rest of the machine its usually a big metal X with slots for screws at its ends. keep it if your cpu doesnt come with one.

That's a CPU retension bracket, I mean the I/O panel brackets for expansion cards.

Yeah, from the back of the case, going to the very front of the case where your PCIe slot is. Here is a picture on my case. The green line on "Maximum Width for VGA Card.

Allright, so I took a look inside my computer and measured the length. The length from the back of my case, passing along the PCI slot, and reaching up to my RAM is 6 inches. I don't really know if the RAM counts as an obstruction or not, but there's no noticeble obstruction after the ram. I'll post some pictures of the inside later today so you can help me out a little here, because I'm not sure if I'm doing this right :(

Okay, sounds good, the RAM may be an obstruction depending on what form factor your motherboard is.
