I'm not a fan of arena. Didn't have a problem with it until it's taking me forever to get the gear I need. Mostly because I work a full-time job and don't have time to play as much as some.

So I'm trying to get it together. No one comes to meet for arena at the same time. No one is willing to respec (though i'm fully willing to since sl/sl is the only lock spec viable in arena), and we need another healer.

people seem to just be buying points. am i the only one frustrated?

I liked it, as a 15 year old with no life blue dungeon gear did good

You lose a lot of games, you make win in games after that

You should just do 2v2 arenas as well at first. Find a dedicated friend in your guild or whatever, I used my girlfriend, and go play

These days ''skill'' can be bought with gold. There is absolutely no honour in buying arena points and use that to buy better equipment.

World PvP is non existant, and I loved the old days where people organized city raids. Hillsbrad battles. etc.

Nowadays, the pvper is not motivated to play do Mass World PvP. You get nor reward by doing it, so why should they?

Arena is dominating all PvP aspects of the game. Blizzard isn't open minded enough to think... maybe there are people who don't like to fight in a cage. This is supposed to be a massive online multilplayer game.

But then again... the battlegrounds aren't exactly any fun neither these days. People are just idle and making profit of honour points by AFK'ing.

This is a great idea. I hope it gets implemented. Damnit, Blizzard should really pay attention to PvP aspect of the game needs.

Doesn't Arena make it easymode for casuals to get epics? I play about 6 hours a week and I manage to stay in a 1750 ish 5v5 team, over time that gets me plenty of the items... I was never a fan of real world pvp, too many variables that have nothing to do with how capable you are of killing other people. Arena is just dueling in groups.

Yes you can buy a team etc to cheat the system, but it's quite fun to play anyway :) Nobody is forcing you to do it, grind badges if you're after PvE gear and hate arena....

I play WoW for the PvE ... for all my favourite characters and the RPG side of the game, PvP was good in Vanilla ... the great stood out and it wasnt a Guild Wars clone.

Now though ... its just ... crap. 5 vs 5? Everything balanced around arena ... World of ArenaCraft ... I fail to see the War now that AV is just an NPC Zerg.

In my opinion, WoW all together has already gone out of hand. All of my friends quit officially. I personally sold my account awhile ago cuz I got so sick of it. Played the game since it came out too. Think Blizzard is finally running out of ideas and are desperate. Don't get why the game is still so popular. lol.

I don't particularly care for arena. Haven't spent a lot of time in it either, as most teams seem to be far too high strung about their rating to spend some time practicing and helping each other to improve their skills. I much prefer BGs.

The effect on the rest of the game has been a mixed bag. There have been some buffs to various classes to help with arena representation, but then a few really idiotic changes to the game for the same reason. I haven't gotten home to check out live 2.4 yet, but on the test server there was a drinking nerf inspired by arena. Last I heard, this was changed to arena only. I hope that's true.

Point selling and all that don't matter too much to me. Under the old BG ranks, people pretty much did the same thing to get High Warlord/Grand Marshall. Yeah, you get "welfare epics", but the way the game has changed, those generally are inferior to other items in pve if you get far enough in raiding.
