The people that play it tell themselves that it's an awesome game, the people that played it and quit say it sucks.
It was fun leveling 1-60, but the end game isn't worth it.Â
I used to play wow, I played on many different charrie types and my highest level was 26, warning: if you don't want a challenge, don't play WoW. I played for 8months, maybe not on that charrie, but I still played for 8 months to get one character in the end to 26, I've quit, but I've got a brother in my house who will play As Long As Possible (ALAP) and he has a 70 and a few 60's, he's not bored, he thinks this game Rox, and, I do too, actually, even tho I quit, I had a blast while I did play.

WOW a challenge? I'm guessing you don't play many MMOs? WOW is easy to get into and pretty quick to level in.

I havn't played WOW, im curious to see what it's like. I want to get the trial but no one seems to know how large the download is.

I dont know the exact download size but i'm sure its pretty big (definitely larger than a gig, maybe 2-3 depending if they include expansions) -- not to mention disk space and time you will spend on patches
But WoW is fun ... though after playing it hardcore (if you're that type of gamer) it will get old, especially at a capped level ... The world is huge and PVP is pretty fun (i'm still waiting for a game without protection from it though and using a murderer system like in old school UO)
But I'd suggest tossing around your time ... Ya know-- play WoW a while, SoH, planetside, whatever ... it dulls much of the boredom MMO's tend to come with
And LOTRO sucks! :P

Ive never played a MMO before. And if it's 2-3 gigs i'll pass on downloading, maybe i can get the trial on a CD somewhere.. here in Australia our broadband is VERY behind the rest of the world. Im not filling up my entire months bandwidth download a trial version.. i wouldn't even get to play it till the next month.. and if their were patches etc to download as well it would take even longer. ;) Â

lol you think Aus net is bad, new zealand net here is worse... but I download about 50 gigs a month and spend only 30 or so aus dollars... you must be on a really really bad plan.Â

You can download 50 gigs a month? WOW!!
Im actually on one of the best plans around. I did a lot of research before choosing. People overseas just don't realise how bad it is. If you ever come to Aus you'll find out. Till then, enjoy your 30 dollars a month on 50 gigs.. cause for me to download 50 gigs id be looking at at LEAST $80 a month. And even then i think it's more. Â
Why don't you get a trial disc and make up your own dang mind!capthavic
Is that really nessacary?
Go to you're local EB, Target or Myer, they'll more than likely have the trial version for sale for like $5 or something, then it's just a matter of patching for about 2 hours and you get 14 days free play.Â

Its good for one thing only...killing alot of time.
Killing time is what most games are about
but cosidering the type of game it is
you have to be in front of it and pay attention to whats going on
no pause and play feature
which I enjoy on other games
since im usually doing 10,000 things at once
If you have a decent rig its fairly pretty and enjoyable
It becomes a great game when you have friends to play it with
soloing it out gets fairly tiresome quick

It's impossible to have a pause function in a realtime multiplayer game, you'd have to pause the entire world :P

Do yourself a favor and don't even think about "playing" a life substitution "game."Â But if self-defating insanity is your thing, WoW is a good place to start.
