i mean should i buy it or do i get a card compatible with dx10 or should i just wait for nvidia to release the 9 series card

It's one of the best DX9 cards out there and most games right now are DX9. Until more DX10 games come out, then you can say it's getting old... Stick with it until the 9 series come out. It would be great if they come out before Crysis but I doubt it...

1950pro is better but the 7900GS overclocks better and uses less power.
