therin lies the problem my mobo sucks at overclocking, i keep getting crahes if i overclock, and my average temp on stock is already 53 C, and full load about 63 C. OVerclocking would just make the temps worse, but i think i might get a sick processor since they are cheaper, and step up to a 8800 GT insted of the GTS to minimize cost. any suggestions.

Woho. 8800 GTX still isnt beaten. lol Should be by now IMO. New 8800 GTS struggles little behind cause of less ROP, shaders, memory, and memory bus.

It's barely faster then a 8800 GT. Nothing worth getting if you already have a 8800 class videocard.

If the 1GB model sports GDDR4 memory then yes, otherwise it won't be much faster since GDDR3 memory is hitting it's limit on how fast you can safely clock it without getting too hot and taking too much power. Games won't just run faster because of more memory. Also, since you have a Geforce 7900 class card it's worth upgrading to the new8800 GTSin your case.

I think that 1GB memory would be bottlenecked by the 256-bit bus.

I think it has a 320 bit bus like the previous 8800 GTS's had..
