isnt it weird that during the fat crt screens era, image quality in compuer screen was superior to television's

while with the lcd era, tvs hold better image quality than compuer lcd screens?

i mean i would want to buy (someday) a computer screen which will serve my xbox360

but from what ive seen lcd computer screen look really bad

perhaps its already gotten any better?

well now-a-days, any TVs that outperform monitors usually can also be hooked up as a monitor also. so it's more like, they are slowly fusing

Yeah, I know my HDTV can be hooked up to my PC aswell as my 360, I just prefer my monitor. I can never be assed with changing resulutions.

I think in a few years they will merge though. But you'll always have Monitors/TVs designed for one or the other specificaly and then hybrid ones.

you do know that PC monitors, even TFTs are better quality than a HD TV right? a 22" TFT monitor goes to 1680x1050, whilst a 22" HDTV is only 1280x720....... so the pc monitor is always better quality.

My 20" HDTV says otherwise. 1680x1050 reselution on that.

And, ofc, 1080p is a HDTV and that's 1920 x 1080, although monitors do do that aswell.

PC monitors already have superior display with a resolution of 2500 x 1600 or something like that instead of 1920 x 1050 from a Full HD TV.

LCD monitors can go at higher resolutions then any HDTV available. Also, they cost less then a HDTV. I can go to Walmart and buy a 22 inch HDTV for about $350, but I can buy a 22 inch LCD monitor for about $200 two aisles down and it has a higher resolution. So which one is better?

the reason that people think HDTVs are better is because of the price difference. the reason the price difference is so high is because of what HDTVs have that monitors don't; a TV tuner and receiver, and usually high quality speakers.

exactly. i asked a friend what his 42" HDTVs maximum resolution was, and it was 1900x1200. on 42". 24" PC monitors can do that, resulting in MUCH crisper images.

I used to have a 19" LCD monitor with HD in it already and that monitor even though I have a 7600 gt oc in my pc the monitor made all of my games look nice. Even on my Mom"s pc it looks great and she only has a internal grophic card.

Now I have a 32" LCD HDTV in my room and a 8600 gt oc to go with my pc anyways every body has there own likings you know and so the tv acts as a monitor and a tv and so I like it cause everything is bigger then your 22" pc monitor or what ever the biggest one out there is. Also I don't care what the rez is cause what ever I play my games in is in 1080i. Except for one game but that is just cause it is an older game.

So in my opion my 32" is better then like a 26" pc monitor.

HDTVs generally have more video inputs as well, and usually multiples of them.
