I can't live without it because I'm addicted to that game tracking feature.
But it's a piece of crap.
First of all, bad interface. I was very happy when Internet Explorer decided to have a conflict with Xfire so now I don't have to scroll down a huge Activity Report to find out what games I have installed. I can't figure out why the hell Xfire informs me every time I start it that I enabled advanced options - it treats me like I'm mentally disabled. Or maybe I am mentally disabled, because I can't figure out the logic behind the order of channels in the channels list. Speaking of which, I'm 100% sure that earlier this afternoon the Xfire Updates channel existed, but after reinstalling this garbage I can't see it anymore. Oh, and it doesn't have an invisible option for the IM client - annoying "friends" ftw! And their site is fugly too, straight out of 2004.
Second, the p2p protocol it's using is a disaster of Roland Emmerich proportions, but without being awesome. Why the **** is it using p2p for every goddamn... thing?! Why am I unable to send files just because my machine is using a slightly different protocol, while classic torrent clients can fix this on the fly?
And why the **** is the updating done ONLY automatically? What is the logic behind this? I have the famous NAT Error 12, which basically locks me out of any updates because... well because. It randomly appears and disappears, and sometimes I wait for weeks before downloading the game list updates. Earlier I could fix it by port forwarding, but lately Xfire decided to be a dick and it's just freakin' stuck there unable to detect my port settings. This could easily be fixed if whoever is in charge of this crap would upload a little installer for us.
I'm really frustrated.
