Thats right everyone! Due to all your help over the past weeks my computer is soon to have a new GPU and RAM and overclocking has started!

I've been having a fiddle really with my CPU (Phenom II X6 1100T 3.3Ghz). It looks like by just increasing the multiplier from 16.5 to 18.0 in bios i got it running nicely at 3.6Ghz....its a start!

What do you guys reccomend next? carry on with the multiplier and when it starts crashing give it a few more volts?

I've read a few reviews or people taking my CPU over 4Ghz but i would just be happy with around 4 for now.

Cheers everyone!

Have a great christmas!

EDIT: Just to add my idle temp is about 30c and under a high intel burn test it gets to 52c. These temps alright? how far should i push it? and what temps are too high under stressing?

Hi overhead I had a Phenom II 1090T before my current build and was able to get 4GHz out of it with 1.4-1.45 volts stable. I'm guessing you just up'ed the multiplier and left vcore on auto? There should be lots of guides on how to overclock hexacore phenoms online easily. Just make sure you have adequate cooling.

Cheers mate, I have a liquid cooling system on my CPU. I've managed to up it from 3.3 to 3.6Ghz. When i go any higher with the multiplier it crashes to a blue screen telling me windows has done it to protect itself. What do i do in this case? does it need more volts? Cheers

Same thing is happening to me with my 965, I have it at 3.7 stable, but as soon as I go any higher even if I increase the CPU Voltage I get a bsod. A few people told me it has something to do with ram, but im not sure.

Hi Mate, Yeah i've only just started grasping the CPU settings let alone the RAM timings etc.... I look at that sequence of numbers and i get brain ache....

If very could be volts but normally if left on Auto it takes more volts then needed so maybe not. Could very well be the memory my mem was set to default speeds and set with 1.65volts as that was the default volts. You may also have a chip that just doesn't overclock. But I doubt that.

Hi Timbury, I haven't gone into altering my RAM settings as of yet, i have no idea of what i'm doing there. Monitoring my overclocking i think my CPU voltage is upping itself when i increase my multiplier, giving me one less thing to alter. I feel its more likely to be memory but i know very little... Cheers for the help!

Just remember to do some good burn test between each increment with several programs eg IBT, 3dmark11, prime95, cinebench etc
