I fired up some Battle Field 2 today. I haven't played it in a while. After I was done I remembered about the new Battle Field they were developing. I stop in at their website to find out it wasn't being developed for the PC. That blows, and it made me mad.

Ive noticed a few other games out there too that are doing the same thing. It made absolutely no sense. I came to the conclusion its all to make you buy an outdated console and pay again to play online.

There is no doubt that the PC is superior. Not because people may think I'm being a Fan-boy or what ever. It's just, were do you think the technology in those consoles gets develops first? PC.

So its not the PC gaming community bringing down the possible fate of PC gaming its the companies. We have money and will spend it! But not on some system were being force to buy.

It is understandable that you are annoyed at consoles stealing gaming from the PC but to be honest its cheaper AND easier to just buy a console. I started a discussion about the minimum specs on PC games (http://uk.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26203408 ) but with console gaming you dont have to be worried about whether the game will run on your console or not for the simple matter that it is designed to do so. I have found that its not the lack of games on the PC that is driving me to console gaming but merely the fact that its so expensive to acquire a PC that can run these new games.

Battlefield 3 = PC Exclusive

Battlefield Heroes = PC Exclusive.

Battlefield : Bad Company = some 24 player craptastic massive downgrade of Battlefield 3 ( same engine, alot smaller scale ) Battlefield 3 having 80 players online ...

What ignorance. The PC completely olbiterates the consoles every single freaking year in the AAA/AA exclusive list if you look at gamerankings for the averages, metacritics and even here.

The PC has lost a few games here and there, but they are always replaced with newer and better upcoming studios.

And that new battlefield game your talking about is a freaking joke dude, it's like the last console only battlefield that was complete garbage (modern combat)

THE REAL next Battlefield, BATTLEFIELD 3 has been in development for a while and it's PC only and you cant bet it's going to crap all over that crappy console version.

EA puts the flagship BF games on PC and gives the consoles garbage BF games.

Yep. Thus, until the TC specifies what other games he means, topic dismissed.

True.. for gaming. I use my PC for everything else also. Spending money upgrading my PC gives me the ability's to do new things I couldn't before or faster. It make make sense to you to buy a console because you may not use your PC for the other things besides the "Internet" I do video editing, music, movies, graphic arts, and multi task between them. Spending the money on upgrading splits the cost into those functions, not just gaming.

I'm also not being ignorant. EAs battle field page had nothing about BF3 so I was unaware they were developing that.

fair point, my friends father is a private dentist and he uses highly graphical utilities to show 3d representations of his patients mouths so my friends always has access to top end computers whenever his dad upgrades (which is quite often.) If you are upgrading out of a necessity for you work or for other hobbies then it would make sense to use the same computer for gaming and effectively kill 2 birds with one stone. However despite how much we may loathe it i think that we must all concede to the fact that, with the advent of online consoles, gaming is very quickly becoming a console oriented activity. And nowhere has this been more evident in the mass of strategy games due for release on the 360, a genre that until recently has be maladapted for use on consoles. Dont get me wrong i would much prefer to use only a computer and have everything in one place but this will soon be putting a strain on the pockets of those of us with smaller budgets.
