Well you have a point. you will probbly be getting a kick ass PC so you wont see any slowdown. usually i roccomed XP for other people on a budget but i guess when people build awsome PC's they should get Vista

I suggest you get an

EDIT:1

Link Case

Link Mobo

Link 8800GTS G92

Link 750W Corsair PSU

Link 2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2 800 4-4-4-12

Link22'' 2ms SamsungWidescreen monitor

And that comes to $1,219.94 i think thats with the rebates added in. now all you need to do is find an E8400 Wolfdale

EDIT:2 You should probbly go SLI sience you have a bit more money to work with.

crossfire scales much better then sli sli only has like 30 to 40 percent increase while crossfire has about 60 percent increase in all resoultioons so that samsung monitor would go great with this setup

and the mobo i pickde is crossfire supporte so he can go crossfire if he wanted to also which is highly recommeded by me and i think others would also agree

besides the the x38 chipset is very great and that board is a great ovrerclocker

i cant find any reviews on the 3870X2 i have found countless reviews with the 3870 and each time the video card i picked was better

EDIT ok after doing loads of searching i finnally found a site with a HD3870X2 Review and from what i can see it has about the same performance as the card i picked out

Link 1

Then here you will see how a 8800 G92 will perform against an 8800Ultra

Link 2

so basicly go with witch ever 1 is cheaper
