Jedi Outcast and Dismemberment

So I recently decided to start playing Star Wars: Jedi Knight II - Jedi Outcast again, seeing how fun the game was. Well, it was even better with dismemberment turned on (and I don't mean just the hands, as in when you turn on dismemberment in the Options). I remember I got it working without problems when the game was new. I also remember I couldn't get it to work after a few years, when I went back to the game. And as luck would have it, here I am 5 years after release and having trouble with dismemberment YET AGAIN.

So then, does anyone know what the deal is? I've tried the usual stuff (helpusobi 1, devmapall, /g_saberrealisticcombat 1 and g_dismemberment 1) and nothing seems to work.

Also, if you know a good mod which turns on dismemberment, hows about throwing a link my way.

those codes worked for me... That's strange.. maybe you should try finding a patch or trainer, that enables the feature...

Ok, I'm at the end of my wits here folks. I can't find any mods for dismemberment. And what really pisses me off is that you've got 500 hundred topics about this on Google, yet they all give you a different solution. And none of them work.

So then, anyone who has FULL dismemberment (heads flying off, torsos hacked in two etc.) enabled, would you be so kind as to give me a step-by-step guide. I simply have to get this thing working so I can start dismantling some Stormtroopers!

I think you have to increase the value, like g_dismemberment 3 or something. Also, you can change the values in the config files without having to go through the console. Go to your Jedi Academy/gamedata/base folder and open up the jaconfig.cfg file.

Look for these lines...

seta g_dismemberProbabilities "1"
seta g_dismemberment "1"

and try setting the values to 3, particulary the first one.

then add the line...

seta g_saberrealisticcombat "3"

Save the file and see if it works. It's a while since I did this myself, but I think that's how I got it working before.

If they are adding to a problem solving discussion thats a top google hit I see more harm in locking this thread than leaving it open
