the demos finally out!?!?!?!
a couple weeks a ago when i got my pc gamer magazine it said in big wrods for jericho "download demo now" but was never put up, and it was driving me crazy
could some oen plz psot a link to a good d/l site of it?
edit:
wow nvm, the demo is here on gamespot, its goin soooo sloooowwww tho
Good game just played the demo. Wonder what multiplayer is like? I wish there was some info on it. This game deserves at LEAST an 8-9. Graphics are awesome too, what engine is it?Smiley_viviI am downloading now, probably unreal, have no clue reallly....
The games not bad, nothing amazing in my eyes, but its still good, think i may pick it up at some point.
Graphics are pretty sweet, not sure what engine it is, i don't think its UE3 it just doesn't seem like it to me, something about just says its there own engine.
Runs pretty smooth around 30-40fps with everything high andno motion blur, and as low as 20fps with high motion blur but its still playable, this is on 7900GTX.
The demo is pretty short though, and would have been nice to have a little bit of story in there but overall it worth checking out.
The game is quite retarded. How did Codemasters manage to make the game only use ONE core, even though Unreal Engine 3 scales to 4 cores easily?!? dunamistheou
Hmmm so it is Unreal Engine 3? Ive not heard any solid statement that it is, it really doesnt look or feel like UE3, but maybe that site is right.
Still even if it only uses one core it still runs smooth.

Um, the game uses the Mercury Engine.
Never seen an undying groupie...A1B2C3CAL
Kind of a strange thing to say since Undying technically is in the group of "elite PC titles". Though yeah I understand since it just isn't mentioned as much.
Anyways, I'm going to go download the demo soon, really don't know what to suspect and would prefer to keep it that way till I play the demo.
omg awesome demo, really atmospheric game engine as well.
And those cinematic moments? Holy crap, awesome! Just take the one with Billie going down the hole: there are like 3 different ways she can die: she can A. fall to her death, B. get stomped on and then fall to her death, and C. make it to the bottom but get her head lopped off (and when it happens, you still see through her eyes!).
Then there is the squad, which is just awesome. The big guy is like "I dont want to end up like the other Jericho squad" then the commander replies "Dont worry" and then the big guy is like "...says the dead guy." Priceless!
Cant wait for the full game, I just hope it is a decent length.
undying an elite PC game?! LOL! Back on 01 .. The game played like a cross between Dark Messiah, Blade the movies and Guild Wars in an FPS. I liked how you could switch between different characters on the fly....LOVE the Mini Gun the big dude carries.A1B2C3CAL
... This statement confuses me...
Just finished the demo and it is awesome. It's really short, but very, very fun. I played maxed out at 1024x768 on my 7900GT and got around 30 to 40 FPS average. 1680x1050 was barely playable, but the game did look phenomenal.
By the way, did anyone else notice the slight auto-aim?
What are the system requirements?lycrof
I am downloading it now. I just hope my GeForce 6600 GT can run it! :S I think the min. requirements are a 7900, but I will try it anyway.
Off-topic: Nice sign there, lycrof. Epica rocks and Simone Simmons is oh so pretty!
I played through the demo a few times, and I'm happy with what I saw.
I'm running a p4 2.8 oc'ed to 3.2, 1.5 gigs of ram, 7800gs AGP (420/1200), and a X-fi Extreme Music. For the graphical quality, I'm very happy with the performance I got, 25-35 fps with the settings way too high for my rig, all highs save shadows:) . I was hoping to eek by with low-med settings, but now medium is looking good. The biggest fps killer I found was a high resolution setting.
The combat didn't blow me away, though it isn't bad by any means. Music and most sound effects were top shelf. I'm hoping for a good variety of enemies, since if the majority behave in the manner the demo mobs did, it might be an issue.
The voice acting had some highlights andannoyances, such as the repeating phrases to do with fallen allies or puzzle cues.
I'm looking forward to the gameafter the demo.
did anybody notice when ur contorling one of the girls and u tell ur squad mates to move or hold position, its the guys voice that talks, lollol maybe it's because you're controlling them through the guy's spirit (the one that dies in the intro cinematic or demo)
well atleast its only a demo, hope they dont forget to fix that
But overall the demo was quite fun, looks like a very promisinig single player adventure, and the graphics are by far some of the best ive seen yet, especially running with silky smooth framerate with all settings high

it looks awesome but will probably end up like Undying... very unappreciated.jrhawk42
i doubt that. u see Undying was unappreciated because it was very much under-advertised.
they only way people ever found out about Undying was from 2 ways: 1) from a friends suggestions, and 2) impulse buy at a game store...
i belonged to the first category and when i picked it up, it turned out to be the best purchase of the 20th century!!!
as for Jericho, it will succeed depending on those who have the system power to fuel this game...
and as far as i can tell, this game being moderately publicized...

well if you look at the competition undying had it's easy to see why it was over looked. The sims, Diablo II, Return to Castle Wolfenstien, Black and White, and Max Payne were all released on PC w/ in 6 months of Undying. I think that killed the game more than anything else. EA put plenty of money behind the advertising but there were just too many high profile titles for it to really stand out over the long run.
With Hellgate London, Crysis, bioshock, World in Conflict, and HL2's Orange box all coming out fairly soon it's quite possible that Jericho could get overlooked just like undying. I'm not even mentioning all the stuff that's coming out for consoles which is where this game will get a majority of its sales.
I could be wrong though the game does stand out, it is awesome, and tons of people seem to love it, but as we've seen w/ plenty of games before quality, and advertising doesn't always work for games. Also today the 360 demo comes out also so keeping an eye on pre-orders might show how well this title is going to actually do. Of course everybody will probably be halo crazy for the next few years on the 360.
