Is it still possible to play online? I heard that flagship Studios went under too. However, I was under the impression that Korean company HanbitSoft were taking control and continuing development?

I only played MP when it released and it sucked in launched. Installed it recently and bugs are mostly gone so its pretty fun. However you can't subscribe and can't get the sub goodies atm. You can still play online and servers been up since launch..

Singleplayer is the same levels as the multiplayer (but remember levels are randomly generated) but Flagship studios closed down so you can't subscribe for an anline account anymore. The future of Hellgate is unclear but in my opinion not much of a great game anyway. On release it was riddled with bugs and memory leaks so get the updates if you do get it. I didn't like the game, to me it was boring a repetitive. the levels looks relatively the same from level 1 to last.

Yeah, the repetition is what killed the game for me, too. There were a few different level layouts, but each of them seemed to get recycled quite a bit. The randomization didn't help, either. It just made the difference of how the same level segments were laid out. Do you go right from the entrance this time, or left?

I did like the interface for the most part aside from the clunky inventory screen. Would like to see a similar sort of take on the action RPG again, but in a setting that allows for a little more variety. Also, with a tone more appropriate to the setting. The Dungeon Runners type humor got old after a bit.
