Yeah, I just beat it and must saythat bioshock is my favorite FPS ever! HL2 is close but not quite. I am happy because I did it on medium difficulty when I usually play FPS games on easy. I know im not good, but im pretty happy right now. :)

You could have done it even on hard and even then use only wrench.

Good for you, but I'm thinking of uninstalling it, since I just didn't get into the game..... and I'm only and the fourth level, I think it's called neptune's bounty or something like that..... should I uninstall it or should I finish it?

Well I might try that next, I saved all the little sisters this time. Next time ill harvest them, and the third ill do both and see the endings.

The wrench never seemed to inflict much damage so I never used it. I didn't get a lot of wrench related tonics though, I probably got more powerful.

Im glad that I had the PC to run it at max settings cus it looked great, one bad thing is the sound wouldn't play in some areas like the endgame scene, but I watched gamespots wsalkthough out to hear it (i didn't use the walkthrough though)

Definately finish man, neptunes bounty is like the 3rd level I think. Next isarcadia which is fun and you'll come across cool weapons which allow for taking down big daddies to be a breeze (especially the last weapon you get :) )

game is lots of fun and plasmids are cool when used with the environment.

Cool. I beat it and haven't even thought of playing it again since. The game was so disappointing... such a waste of my money.

When a game is designed so that you cannot die on any difficulty, you know its going to be a cake walk... and damn, was BioShock a cake walk. The story was disappointing as well, the build up was great but then the ending just left you with that "what the ****?" feeling... and I didn't want to have to play such a boring game again just to get the "good" ending.

If you think BioShock is one of the best FPS's you've played, you need to branch out a little more, experiences some of the absolute gems from the past... heck, experience the mold BioShock was made with, System Shock 2.

yeah its kinda sad but the wrench is the most powerful weapon in the game bar far, just get all the upgrades for it and nothing stands a chance, besides it killing, with ease, every enemy in the game,I even used itfor the last boss battle, i killed him the firts time using the grenade launcher and such and a whole bunch of other amo and i almost died like 3 times but when i busted out my wrench i ran straight at him and kept swinging, needless to say i owned him in about 5 seconds, this is why i dont care to reply the game, i may start to try other tactics, but when i start having strouble why wouldnt i just bust out my wrench and shockthen hit

I thought Bioshock was better than Cod4. Everything felt to scripted and playing through it for the second time wasn't fun at all.

Well CoD4 is too short and I don't play multiplayer. I have heard that the wrench is great and all so I guess Ill try to go through with only it.

The most fun of the game is letting the environment kill you enemies, I hacked everything and used trip wires a lot once I got them, I just really liked the game and I guess im sorry you guys didn't. Im picking up crysis for sure and hopefully it pushes past bioshock with its unique take on character 'abilities'.

Maybe im giving bioshock too much credit, but I did like it.I've playedHL2, ep1 and 2, quake 4, CoD1 and 2,splinter cell(all of them), far cry,and usually play a lot of RTS games, no game (that list was not exhaustive) has let me kill enemies in such creative ways as bioshock. I know I never played system shock, but I don't think I could get into it.

BLASPHEMY!!!

Anyways to me CoD4 had a better story cause it has a "in their shoes" feeling. Even though its short its one hell of a game. To me Bioshock needs mods and the AI needs TONS of work (feels like a port)

See, now youre just being stupid. Go to the off-topic forum and make a thread there.

This thread pertains to Bioshock and beating it.

But in all honesty, I dont think you should bother making a thread about your sandwich as it wouldnt get many replies. This thread has gotten replies, therefore it is worthy of having been created.

And dont be so uptight, man, its a forum if you dont like the thread dont post anything in the first place.

Then I guess its time you try playing Deus Ex or System Shock 2. If you don't try it you will never know if you can "get into it" or not.

Well that sucks. I haven't started over again, but for some reason I think ill actually beat this again, I can change it up and kill only with the wrench or put it on hard difficulty or something. The only other game i've played or at least beaten more than once is HL2.

And to the other guys, this is totally worth a thread, and if nothing else, it helped me finally get over 2000 posts. I liked bioshock and thats that.

Oh and to the system shock 2/deus ex guy, I played a little of deus ex and it was just too old for me, I know I should look past graphics, but I just can't.

I wonder if the witcher is worth getting, heard it was good, can't wait for super mario galaxy though.

Good job man. I got to the last level and a virus that my friend downloaded onto my PC ate up my .exe files. So I will have to play it again. I always play games on the hardest difficulty myself. Because all games are so much different with the AI.

true but i would give it a 7.0. i mean its a shooter and it has the poorest weapon model in all shooters i ever played. the guns looks and "feels" like toys or something, i hated them

Your gonna love the ZP Review.

Haha, I was gonna try a "wrench run" and now I'm actually encouraged to do it.

I Like half life's Story WAY more than Bioshocks, it's definetly way more scripted, but gameplay is way different in Bioshock, I still love both of those games, but when I kept hearing "BIoshock has an amazing story" and then when I got to that ending...

**SPOILER OF BIOSHOCK ENDING COMING UP, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WISH TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!**

I was like, just hoping to God that the game wasn't gonna pull some cop-out "it was all a setupd" type thing, and I figured Atlas was gonna backstab me, I didn't know he was gonna be fontaine, but I knew he was gonna use me like a puppet, but turns out, everything, even the plane crash, was just "all a setup", so I thought "great, the whole time I was running around, I was hoping I would be wrong about the story, but nope, I was almost dead on, what bullcrap"

Not to mention how stupid the "choice" thing was, there's only 2 endings, and the review I posted above did an amazing job explaining it. Not to mention hillarious.

**SPOILER ENDS HERE***

I just considered that since it was so dynamic, and you could use plasmids to play in ANY style was my favorite aspect of the game, and that's what I loved about it. Countless ways to handle things, you just have to be a little more tactical AND creative, the knowledge from research cameras helped. Unlike half-life where it's just a good frikin story, and you play to know what happens more than to just kill zombies and solve puzzles, and then of course kick some ass.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Bioshock. I've played it through quite a bit, and it's almost a different experience every time. It's just, not the best, or greatest thing in the world. I wish it wasn't so overhyped, but when I play crap like Halo 3 which is so overhyped that it automatically is just considered good, I look back on games like Bioshock that actually TRIED to do better.

That review was the single best video I've seen!! thanks for giving the link.

I haven't played System Shock 2 and am pissed at myself for the fact that I can't stomach a game from roughly ten years ago. STALKER was great though, but just the fact that I could do so much with the unique weapons was great in bioshock (not the pistol, shotgun, machine gun) How many games can you lay trap bolts in? I also love the fact that bioshock cut the **** and didn't have 4 machine guns, 2 shotguns, and whatever, there were guns that did gun things and other weapons that did cooler things.

To conclude,, the game (bioshock) was great, not for its uber story, but for the great layout of weapons and plasmids and the numorous ways of killing things.

HL2 is great, possibly a better story. Its a 'shooter' though. Bioshock is a shooter/put 3-4 trap bolts down and watch the big daddy fryas you laugh! all games mentioned above are great, I just love games :)

**SPOILER OF BIOSHOCK ENDING COMING UP, DO NOT READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON'T WISH TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!**

There are 3 endings technically. The evil, really evil, and good.Check the game files and see.The difference is the tone in which she speaks to you in the ending (Dr. Tennenbaum ).The way to get the less evil ending is to harvest up to the point where you go to Dr. Tennenbaum's lab then start saving them.

great game

what makes a great game for me is one that has many "gaming moments". Bioshock has several. I dont normally have interest to complete games before another takes my fancy but I staying with Bioshock til the end.

I could get by with the wrench on many an occasion (had all the boosts for it) and i do agree it was never really that hard on medium but it goes down as memorable for me.

I just recently finished Bioshock and felt that it was an OK game in total, mainly because of the storyline, but was way below average as a FPS. I just started COD4 a couple of days ago and i've already been blown away by it. There are a couple of levels already that are the best gaming i've ever played (Gunship level and the gilly suit sniper level). It has a very good chance of replacing Mafia as my favorite game of all time, and I'm not even half way through it. Right now I don't think Bioshock would even make it into my top 20 games.

Everyone that is throwing sarcastic comments about how easy bioshock was - I'd say the approach is awesome.

What I mean is you don't have to hit quicksave/quickload like a madman like in other games - a definite improvement in my opinion. You just respawn (where you'd have quicksaved otherwise anyway!).

Heck, you can beat half life with the crowbar on hard with all that saving... how easy is that?!

Bioshock for me was seriously a waste. I've never played a game that carried such lousy gunplay. I didn't find one weapon to be fun to use. Sure the game looks good and it's very atmospheric, but with the crappy gameplay and brain-dead AI the game is seriously a waste. I beat the game, but it felt more like a chore trying to beat it instead of having fun. And then when I did beat it, I was given a pretty crappy ending. Wasn't worth my BANDWIDTH.
