DVI doesn't support audio like HDMI does, so you are going to need to connect something else to get sound. Are you using a receiver or anything like that? Ideally you would want to run an optical cable from the PS3 to a receiver and the DVI to your TV.
But if you are just using your TV you could likely use the RCA cables that came with the PS3 and just connect the Red and White to the TV. Then in the PS3 you would tell it that HDMI is handling the video and RCA is handling the audio. I've never actually tried that, but I have run HDMI for video and optical for audio, so it might just work.
Failing all of that, you should probably just get component cables and go that route. Chances are your TV is not 1080p and/or HDCP compliant and the digital connection won't serve much purpose.
Thanks for reply I'm to using the DVI-HDMI for my pc monitor. Can you recommend me the part I need for audio with pics/links would be great thank you.lonsy02
You would want something likethis.
Just plug the Red and White from the PS3 into it and then plug the other end into your PC speakers.
