So I bought Metro 2033 but I'm afraid to open it because I'm not sure how well it will run on my computer. I have an Alienware M17x with dual Geforce 260Ms, 4 gigs RAM and a 2.0 GHz quad core. Now that I've solved my cooling problem I'm running Bad Company 2 (single player) around 50 FPS on medium-high settings and Crysis around 30 FPS on medium-high. How well will Metro 2033 run? Should I break the seal and bind it to myself forever?

Go here to see if you can run the game:

It's what I use.

It doesn't really matter; if your laptop gets too hot, it'll power down as a safeguard. Just pop the game in and have fun.

to be fair your build is not very modern. It bases it off of what parts you have and compares it to what the devs say is the recommended

Well with dual GTX 260M's you might as well as say you have a normal GTX 260 performance. I know someone with a E7400, 4gb DDR2, and a GTX 260 and ran it all on high just fine. I also ran it great on high with dual 8800GT's. Also if even on normal settings it has 4x more detail then the 360 version so.

if the site is advertising telling people what they can and cant run, then that is a very poor excuse.

I'm playing on high settings. I had the resolution at 1440x900 (my native) but it chugged a little, so I turned the res down to 1280x800 and I'm getting a fairly consistent 40 FPS.

And by the way, System Requirements Lab is not very reliable. It told me I couldn't run Crysis at all but I'm running it on medium-high settings, 1280x800 with 25-30 FPS

i can max it really smoothly with a 5870. You can definitally get playable framerates by tweaking the settings down a bit. remember metro 2033 on all low settings looks better than the 360 version.

I'm running it at 1366x768 oh high settings with 4xAA on my lappy and I'm getting a solid 24fps. Which for some reason and incredibaly smooth for this game. lol The lows hit 18fps for a second or two. It's not as bad as people say. If my lappy can run it and make it very very playable then yours should do very nicely. By the way why are you playing Battlefield and crysis on medium high settings. Are you a fps junky. You want the most fps as possible or something. lol I'm playing BFBC2 on all high with 2xAA and 8xAF and I get 34fps + the lowest low ever was 27fps. You should be able to get BFBC2 maxed at 40+fps with your lappy
