there is no posible way for a monitor to affect fps besides changing the res. Dont call the company stupid just beause its your pc thats screwing it.The most likely cause is that the card is overheating Did you change anything in your case or install anything new when you install that monitor?

maybe he bought a prebuilt? Duh...
well, maybe it is my hardware, because i changed my old monitor back, and my fps dropped also. from 70 to 50 now. i called them stupid because they didn't even know what frame rates meant, but yeah, now i have a even bigger problem. i haven't touched any settings or moved anything. all i did was plug in new monitor, then i got bad fps. i just changed back to my old monitor now, and i'm still getting bad fps. what is going on here?WiLsOn1106Hard to say - I would take a guess that your video card is having some sort of problem though. Double-check your PCI-e power connector and make sure it's fully seated, also make sure that the video card is as well. Also check the settings of your card in Nvidia's control panel or whatever program you use - it's possible that your video card isn't clocking itself all the way up during gaming sessions, although that doesn't sound very likely. Still, it's free to check.
