Did you hear your computer post(you might not if you didn't install the mini speaker, I know some mobos don't come with them anymore)? Do you have another monitor or something like it that your computer can plug into? In cases like this it's best to have something to reference check. Were you properly grounded when you built the computer?hi this was the first time i ever built my own computer before. i powered it on and all the fans came on and the led light turned on. so why is ther no signal from my monitor?

If you look at the back of the monitor does it have other inputs for cables that you are not using? Or what buttons are on the monitor? -Power -Menu? -Brightness? -Contrast? If you post the monitors model number I can answer all the above questions for you. That number should be on the back side of it.Sledge70model number AL1916W A
Your motherboards standard BIOS don't support that CPU. The socket is correct, but the type of CPU isn't.

Also make sure that your video card is connected to your monitor properly through the use of a DVI or VGA cable. ;)
BIOS 1503 and up should support his CPU. http://usa.asus.com/Product.aspx?P_ID=cf8IZzbU4m6GHKnW&content=specificationsYour motherboards standard BIOS don't support that CPU. The socket is correct, but the type of CPU isn't.

Should. But I did speak incorrectly, what I meant to say was THAT might be the problem. I know on my first build I had the socket right for the MOBO/CPU combo but the initial BIOS didn't support the CPU. So I used an older CPU to make the initial start.
Just looking at basic specs the Mobo supports Phenom II x4 and Phenom II x3. His is an Athlon, just saying that might be the culprit.
Here's a thought. How about the OP thank us for offering all these suggestions. This kind of trouble shooting costs a MINIMUM of $50/hour if you go to a cpu repair place. Also, I believe several people mentioned you need to update your bios so your mobo will recognize your cpu.
If you don't want to help GTFO? And TBH i don't see many people say thanks. Here's a thought. How about the OP thank us for offering all these suggestions. im sorry i was trying these suggestions that they were saying thank you for all your helpdooby95286Don't worry buds, Some people expect things. He'd be the one who donated $100,000 to charity simply to get his name in the newspaper, and a pat on the back.
Sometimes the main problem with a computer not posting or showing a picture is because RAM's not compatible or faulty, and the CPU can play a role to . Make sure you're using compatible ram or a popular brand that way you won't have much compatibility problems. Also, for the most part like jiggly said, it's not the monitor it's something not installed correctly or something that's just not done right.hi this was the first time i ever built my own computer before. i powered it on and all the fans came on and the led light turned on. so why is ther no signal from my monitor?
