So i just built a new rig today but my bios isnt detecting my hard drive. It's a sata western digital 500gb and a gigabyte ga-p35-ds3l mother board. Theres power going to the hard drive and the sata cable is inserted correctly so why cant my bios detect it?

Check the BIOS in the 'Standard CMOS Features' menu to make sure that all the 'IDE Channel x' are set to 'Auto' and not to 'None'.
