hated the ending... Really? Joker injects himself? Every criminal had its own unique fight then they remove everything about the joker that makes him individual and make him one of the big monsters we spent half the game fighting already...

The rest of the game was awesome though. I can't remember the last time I've been so immersed. I actually felt like I was at Arkham, Great game.

I also felt that the Joker was too easy a final boss but the game nontheless was kick-ass. Maybe I'll just have to play the game on the hardest mode this time.

It's hard.

meh. I musta played it on easy then. But I did find the scarecrow battles kinda frustrating, especially the final encounter where you gotta kill those damn skeletons coming in waves.

It wasn't the difficulty that bothered me, it felt like the last fight had no personality and no individuality like say the scarecrow, poison ivy, or killer croc fights...

I agree, the last battle felt almost... rushed? Didn't really fit in, but the rest of the game was just pure genius.

Honestly the game was awesome but after you kill poison Ivy the rest is pretty dissapointing, the ending too. Oh well atleast the party scene was fun. Cant say the same for the third scarecrow encounter that nearly gave me a heart attack.

Its not challenging at all, i have 1000/1000 on that game. If you want to rage a bit, try the challenge rooms.

Yep, the final boss was the most disappointing part about Batman AA.

The only thing I didn't like was that it's clearly meant to be played with a gamepad. Sections where mouse movements had no effect on camera panning were especially, frustrating and hard on my fingers. The part that really had me raging was the last bit of the killer Croc sequence. Where the camera swings to the front and you have to alternate between your back movement key and the left/right keys to run on the platforms. Then the camera would swing long before the corners would come, forcing you to adjust you movement key pressing long before the turns. I must have died 10 times there, because I kept running in the wrong direction at the start of the camera change. And using the space bar to toggle between running and side stepping.... I never got used to it. Also, wasn't very happy that I had to exit the game to rebind keys and that a few functions were combined to a single binding, when they didn't need to be. I need to get myself a gamepad, it seems; so I can play this game with more control.

I thought the ending would have been awesome if they would have actually let you fight him instead of the same old goons you'd been fighting throughout the entire game. Shooting your batclaw thing (or whatever it was) at him and then punching him in the face a few times was really lame.

Oh definitely. A thug should not be able to take 50 punches to the face and Batman dies in five...

mouse and keyboard felt pretty good for me

it was disappointing in that it was just a challenge mission beat the thugs but it really didnt ruin what the joker was about, joker could never handle batman one on one, the cool thing about him is hes schemes.

and its not like any other boss battles were better, ivy was just spamming dodge between 2-3 batarangs, croc wasn't even a boss fight (most disappointing by far) and harley is exact same as joker (thug fight)

I thought the boss battles in general were quite mediocre, bar the Scarecrow ones. That and the cutscenes interfered with the action far to often in boss fights especially, and naturally, the ending wasn't gratifying. As a friend pointed out, the Joker wants a spectacle, two titans duking it out for everyone in Gotham to see, Batman resists, the show goes on. Problem was the fight and sudden 'surprise'... and predictable wrap up weren't terribly good. Otherwise excellent game, one of the best action adventures in years.

I know what you mean, luckily I had a wired 360 control around.

The only thing that disappointed me about the entire game was the joker fight, like I said before the other bosses were a bit gimmicky as well but at least they were in the correct scenery. I know the joker cant fight batman one on one but I wanted to fight the joker not the hulk. The best part of the game to me was its main character and by that I mean Arkham itself...

in terms of gameplay, immersion, story and voiceacting....Batman AA is about as close to perfect a game I have ever played.

Its no where near my favorite, but from an objective standpoint I cant help but admire it. Its simply flawless, and a pleasure to play.

My bad... I just looked more closely at the key bindings. And it turns out that you can separate some of the functions. I always tend to ignore those alternate keybinds. But just noticed that for the mouse default bindings, the alternate bindings separate functions.

What was messing me up, through out the game wast that I would hit the Right Button on the mouse to counter, and it would go into aim mode... and I'd get hit. It was aggravating. Now I see that you can take off the aim and bind it to a keyboard key, that way he doesn't go into aim mode when you are too far away for a counter. Problem with Aim mode is that you have to wait for the animation to end before you can fight again, and I was always getting hit. Too bad I didn't notice that until after finishing the story.

Still a great game, though. But... a gamepad is still the way to go with this game, I'm sure.

As for the Joker, I wasn't really expecting to fight him. I mean, that's not his s-tyle (geez that word is censored by the forum... had to put a dash in.) I imagine the developers did it the way they did, because if they hadn't; we would be complaining about not fighting him and his defeat being nothing but a cutscene or something. At least this way he's still the main focus of the last battle. Instead of his goons.
