I went on a shopping spree on amazon.com last weekened and found some dirt cheap brand new classics. I got the Half-life Anthology, all 3 Fallout's and both Baldur's Gate games with there expansion. I also picked up Neverwinter Nights for 5 bucks(brand new).

If you had to choose out of BG1, BG2 and Neverwinter Nights, which game would you play first?

its nights, the K is a lie. anyways, play it in this order:

bg1

bg2

hl1

fallout 1

fallout 2

nvn

hl1: opposing force

i wouldnt have chosen nvn though. too much reading in a video game for my tastes.

Damn, thats like EXACTLY the games i was about to buy, replacing half-life anthology with system shock 2. But instead of getting the bg1/2 pack, im buying the 4 in 1 pack.

Start with NVN, then Fallout 1, then Fallout 2, then HL1: Opposing Force, then BG1 + exp then BG2 + exp.

Why? NVN is easy, so you can learn to understand roleplaying rules. Fallout 1 & Fallout 2 are nice, but after that you need a relaxing non-RPG break (HL1). If you haven't tried HL: they hunger mod, play that as well (it is great free mod spanning three free episodes which was so good they are releasing They Hunger 2 for HL2 commercially). After that you can try BG1 & BG2, which in my book are still the best tradditional RPG's out there.

Yea I got the 4 pack too. BG1+2 and all the expansions.

Also, I've played Half-Life and Fallout so that's the reason I didn't mention them.

oh my, i'm so freaking JEALOUS, man. you've got bg2 + expansion, fallout, fallout 2, half-life to look forward to. i wish, i wish, i wish i were playing all four games for the first time in my life! that's 200 hours right there! my winter break is coming up, and though i do have civ 4 to play and it'll be awesome i'm sure (it's been good thus far), that lineup you have is dream lineup of all dream lineups; just imagine spending my winter vacation just playing those games for the first time. so sweet~~~! awesome, near perfect list of games, man (nwn, notwithstanding).
