Just played Two Worlds demo.

Think of a poor man's Oblivion. Pretty good game but I don't see it taking off with the masses. Seems more geared towards hard core RPG players. The weapons/spells menu is a bit complicated for my tastes. The keyboard settings wont allow you to bind certain keys, which is a big turnoff for me. But maybe thats just in the demo.

The effects and the water look pretty good, but the trees/rocks/character textures are a bit dated.. The trees just look damn ugly .

But everything ran really smooth maxed out 1280x1024. Judging from the demo its not a bad rpg at all. Just not a rpg for me.

Go download it, you might like.

I am not sure if it is a bug, but I could never find the last fire chalice. Is that a requirement to completing the game? I kinda stopped after I got to the monastary, though I liberated every single town before I got there. I read somewhere on the official forums that if you liberate too much of the world before you see Xardas, it breaks the main quest.

I'm downloading the demo right now and if it's not like Oblivion then it should be good. Oblivion was soooo damn boring. *yawn*

I stopped playing as well, although I stopped 2 or 3 chalices short of the main quest. I got a little frustrated with the combat, even after discovering the quick strike with the mouse button 2, hehe. I used a few cheats to buff my character's strength too which made it a bit better. I'm thinking of firing it up just to finish it.

Yup, sadly I really have to agree. I was going to buy this game tommorow, but luckily I read your displeasure with the game first (from what I have read in your posts, you seem to have good taste in games), and downloaded the demo. It seems to be a huge intricate world, but the mechanics of the game are way to clunky.

I really wanted to enjoy this game too...oh well...NEXT!

I think a lot of people are completely blinded by mainstream media, and they can't think for themselves. Case in point: suddenly every rpg set in a fantasy land is considered an "Oblivion Wannabe". Just like every white rapper is an Eminem wannabe, and every single open ended game is a GTA wannabe.ill001

I found the controls relatively confusing. They didn't explain too much and I lost interest.

Game looked good though on my specs.

I didn't realize there was a demo out for the game since my interest was pretty much zilch.

Might as well give it a go- it would have to try pretty hard to be worse than Oblivion as an RPG.
