A nasty virus got my computer so i decided to reinstall it with my Windows XP cd. And upon completion I noticed that none of my computer cards were working. My network, sound and among other cards have been disabled. I know they're there because I used it before the reinstallation. But now it's all dry. I can't connect to my wireless network nor play audio tracks. Is there a way I can get the network and audio cards work again? I've tried to reinstall the network and audio cards but it didn't work. I'm a computer noob so please use an easy language

Thank you!

Sounds like you need to install the drivers. Do you know what brand and model the cards in question are?

Ya they're called drivers. Since you're a "noob" i assume you didn't build your PC. Did it come with a ton of other disks? Normally they just stick the default drivers on XP restoration disk, but maybe they didn't. And if you have changed hardware since you got it, the restoration disk obviously won't be installing the right drivers.

If you have another computer hand, you could go to the distributor's website and look up the model of your computer. First off you want to find your networking drivers specific to your networking card so that you can get on the internet using your computer. This way, you don't have to keep transferring files from a seperate computer.

Once you have your networking drivers, do your video card drivers and sound card drivers, followed by anything else you have that's not working.
