just started half life 2, need help!

Okay, i've only played HL2 for a few days and i got some quick questions.

1.) What is half life 2 lost coast about?

2.) Can u put Bots in half life 2 deathmatch and play offline mode, like you can in counter strike source?

3.) this is a pretty silly one. Can you use the scope on the submachinegun? From the looks of it, there is a red dot scope, but im not sure if you can use it.

Lost Cost was just a showcase of bringing HDR to the HL2 engine.

I don't think you can play against bots. Unsure if there are any mods to do that specifically. You can get Gary's mod 10 and place Bots "NPC's" into the sand box and fight them.

As for the Scope, unsure..
