2. The setup that you've got did me fine for a year or so then i upgraded to Avast which dosn't crash your game when it updates

OUCH, from what I have read Pentium D's suck you might be better sticking with your Pentium 4 and maybe consider overclocking it. Then save for new mobo and cpu, depending on where you live and shop u could pick up a combo for £100 in UK, maybe $100-$150 in US, might even be less in US

P4 is not better than a Pentium D... PD are enneficient... They are more or less dual core P4s. You can get c2d motherboards pretty cheap now, I would just upgrade your motherboard too.
